GOVERNING BODY
Under section 60 of Bihar state universities Act 1976 there shall be a Governing Body for the management and administration of affiliated college. Purvottar Railway College ,Sonpur is an affiliated unit of Jai Prakash University,Chapra.The present Governing Body notified by university vide letter No.7913 I.O.C.(R) dated 30/07/2016 consists of 7 members.

- Dr.Ramanuj Prasad –MLA,Sonpur ,Public Representative - President
- Dr.Kashi Prasad Rai-Retired principal,P.N.College,Parsa- Educationist (Co-opted Member) -Secretary
- Dr.Umashankar Yadav-PG Chemistry Deptt.JPU,University Representative -Member
- Sub divisional Officer (SDO),Sonpur-Govt.Representative -Member
- Senior Divisional Personal Officer(Sr.DPO) –ECR,Sonpur -Donar Member
- Prof.Harikant Barua-Deptt.of Geography-Elected Teacher Representative -Member
The terms of office of the members of Governing Body other than Teacher and University Representatives shall be for the period of 3 years from the date of their nomination and notification .The term of TR and UR shall be for a period of one academic session.
